Quality is a system, not an inspection at the end. We put the system in place and then hold the project to it.
We prepare a project quality plan with inspection and test plans, checklists and acceptance criteria for each activity. Materials are approved against specification before they reach site, and tested at the frequency the code requires.
Work is inspected stage by stage against those checklists. Non-conformances are raised in writing, rectified and re-inspected, so the snag list at handover is short and the defect liability period is quiet.
